Kaffeine - London
Im not sure which of the two is true, either Melbournites have access to the best coffee in the world or we are the most picky coffee snobs. Why? because using Melbourne or Australia as a way to identify a barista or an entire coffee shops heritage is a winner overseas. It also helps me when I travel, a quick google of 'Melbourne Coffee' and a quick target is identified. For my latest trip to London that mean't Kaffeine....'Inspired by the amazing coffee culture in Australia..., Kaffeine is an independently owned cafe and espresso bar.'
Located in trendy West End area of Fitzrovia, Kaffeine is small in size but big on style and substance. Ticking all my interior boxes it has exposed brick walls, old timber floors and industrial fittings. I was there on a public holiday and yet there was a constant queue flowing out the door.
And some homely accents to boot!
The coffee was bold and strong, cab sav
like. It was the perfect morning pick me up. My only disappointment was the size of the cup :) I washed it down with muffin, there were just enough options for food to compliment what is a coffee first set up.... just how I like it.
The area looks rich in coffee options so i will try a few, but expect Ill be back to Kaffeine before the trip is through.
